Writers-teachers of the XIX - 30s of the XX century. - authors of educational and methodical support of educational institutions of Western Ukraine
Abstract
The second half of the XIX century – the period of awakening the self-consciousness of the Ukrainian
people on the basis of society, cultural and educational movement, Ukrainian schooling. During this period, the ideas of cultural conformity and free upbringing of the individual crystallized. There is not only the development, but also the partial implementation
of these ideas in the educational process through the use of content and appropriate forms and methods of
practical work.
Analysis of the life and work, literary works of writers-teachers gives us the opportunity to conclude that the Enlightenment, civic consciousness, patriotism, devotion to the interests of the people are inherent, first of all, the
artists themselves. Analyzing literary works, public and educational activities, we see that they are full of various educational situations, characters, views, actions of people who lived in the first half of the twentieth century in
modern Western Ukraine. The educational activity of Western Ukrainian
writers-teachers of the end of the XIX – 30s of the XX century, who worked and worked in the schools of Western Ukraine, is a reliable source of information about the development of schooling in this historical period. The construction of educational work in the period
under study required enterprising, dedicated people who would take the lead in this process into their own
hands, and the means to ensure the implementation of the tasks.
The study found that an important role in the implementation of educational tasks and the formation of pedagogical and educational guidelines had the activities of public cultural, educational and pedagogical, founded and led by prominent representatives of the Western intelligentsia: teachers, writers and educators of Western Ukraine.
