Introduction of educational model assistant training dentist in institutions professional higher education

Abstract

This article makes a features of work organization of dental assistant and problems of training these specialists. In modern working conditions of dental clinics there is an acute problem to provide qualified dental assistant, whose functions are performed by nurses and dental hygienist today. In Ukraine the issue of training nurses has been well studied in publications of L.Borysiuk, M. Danyuk, M. Demyanchuk, I. Lukashchuk, M. Lukashchuk, O. Markovych, I. Radzievska, Z. Sharlovych, M. Shegedyn. Scientists worked out and substantiated methods of forming professional competence of future nurses in their researches. But not many scientists engaged in questions of training specialists in stomatology. This theme is opened up in publications of V. Gabal, O. Humeniuk, I. Mazur, Y. Mochalova. However, the problem of training nurses as dental assistants has been studied not fully. Therefore, this article presents comparison of the training and functional responsibilities of dental hygienists and nurses. The inexpendiecy of implementation functions related to the assistance of dentist by dental hygienist is substantiated and effective application of professional skills of nurses is indicated. In this regard, there is a problem of formation of professional competence of a nurse for work in a dental clinic. The model of educational process of training specialists, that will ensure qualitative formation of professional competence to perform the duties of dental assistant is introduced in this article.
