Abstract

The article analyzes the axiological component of European approaches to nursery yeomanry professional training. It is shown that necessity for value training of specialists in this field is determined by a number of special international documents, and it is also supported by certain regulations or documents of nursing self-government at the national level. Thus, the European strategy of the World Health Organization directly indicates the value aspects of professional training of nurses and midwives. At the same time, the UK National Health Service (NHS) has settled its fundamental values in its documents that are in fact the axiological basis for the nurses’ training in the United Kingdom. In its turn, the Code for Nurses and Midwives of Poland contains an appeal to spiritual values as the basis of moral behaviour, as well as a number of ethical virtues. The study showed that there are reasons to affirm that similarity of value priorities which set out in the Code of Professional Ethics for Nurses and Midwives of the Republic of Poland and the List of Core Values of Nurses in the United Kingdom, approved by the UK National Health Service. Finally, the paper reveals the value priorities that are typical for the European nursing community. The effective part provides recommendations for improving effectiveness of the value component of the nurses’ professional training in Ukraine. In particular, it is essential to raise the issue of both normative consolidation of the strategy of such reforms and development of practical means of implementing these reforms, including creation of effective models of axiologization of professional training in the context of solving the problem of axiologization of the future nurses’ national professional training.
