The usage of online service Google forms in educational process in general secondary educational institution

Abstract

The article substantiates the importance of cloud technologies, especially the online service Google Forms, and their usage in the educational process. Based on the analysis and generalization of the science and methodology literature towards the usage of new information technology in the educational process, it was indicated that the direction of information and communication technology practical usage in the educational establishments is rather actual nowadays. But the opportunities of the service Google Forms are widely used by teachers in their everyday work and at the same time they are not explored enough by scientists.

The authors have proved how comfortable it is to use the service Google Forms at the lessons, in the out of class activities, in the cooperation with parents, teachers, for evaluation, self-education and for the collection of different information. They have shown the types of questions to be done using Google Forms, the kinds of activities which are worth using, such as questionnaires, tests, quests, travels, quizzes etc.

The article deals with some components and peculiarities while working with Google Forms. It is also noted that there are some additional opportunities and peculiarities of the resource settings, data presentation, the results of polls and tests sorting and storage, the creation of section transition etc.

         In order to diversify the studying process, it is offered to use the service Google Forms for making online questionnaires, web-quests and travels. All of them are the perspective means of formative assessment. Alongside with the advantages there are also disadvantages of Google Forms usage in the educational process. Google services constant updating shows new opportunities and perspectives of Google Forms usage in the educational process of general secondary educational institutions. The meaning of Google Forms in education is important. Their constant usage reduces the directive (normal) educational situations, diversifies and enriches the studying process.
