Using of psychodiagnostic methods PEP-3 and CASD in detection and examination of children with autism
Abstract
This article deals with the main approaches to understanding the problem of autism in the scientific community. The necessity of children with autism early detection in inclusive resource centers, has been studied. It was characterized the averment of Ukrainian and foreign researchers about the necessity of creating a psychodiagnostic tools for identifying and differentiation autism spectrum disorder. It will contribute to the implementation of Ukraine state policy in regarding the provision of early intervention services for families with children who have developmental disabilities.
In this scientific work it was made the analysis of modern methods of psychological diagnosis of autism PEP-3 and CASD. It was substantiated the demand of the development of CASD, PEP and its revised editions, and their diagnostic purposes and objectives are defined. Particular attention is paid to the description of the specific methods as a reliable and valid psychodiagnostic tools in Ukraine for the early diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
It was determined, the evaluation criteria according to the main scales of the methods. The advantages of using PEP-3 and CASD by psychodiagnostics in practical activities are described in this article. It was underlined the main standards and indicators, which have to be taken into consideration when the results of the study are interpreting and which indicate the possible presence of an autistic spectrum disorder. The requirements for a specialist who can use the specified methods in practice are outlined.
It was concluded that available psychodiagnostic tools that will allow to identifying the children with autism at an early age in Ukraine are very needable. The PEP-3 and CASD methods partiaqually satisfy this need, and the research results will help specialists to ensure the logistics of further interventions, develop an intervention program, and organize psychological and pedagogical support for a child with special educational needs.
