Environmental education of children and student youth in today practice
Abstract
The article reveals the main theoretical principles and applied approaches to the organization and implementation of educational, developmental and socializing work of teaching teams of general secondary institutions of extracurricular education on environmen- tal education of children and student youth. This is aimed at ensuring the needs of the individual in creative self-re- alization, deepening and expansion the basic level of en- vironmental education, including the formation of social activity, the leading qualities of a citizen and patriot.
The activities of the pedagogical staff of the Vinnyt- sia regional station of young naturalists in coordinating cological-naturalistic, nature conservation, experimental- research work with children and school youth in educa- tional institutions of the region are characterized. Their participation in All-Ukrainian and regional mass events (competitions, regional creative week, exhibitions, scien- tific and practical conferences, creative meetings, promo- tions, etc.) was revealed, which covered every fourth stu- dent.
Other important both purely theoretical and applied areas of improvement of environmental education of stu- dents of various ages in educational institutions of the re- gion due to organization and activity are characterized: almost fifty student forestry; carrying out various ecologi- cal expeditions and work on ecological educational paths, depending on the educational and educational direction, complexity and duration and effectiveness; the activities of more than half a thousand environmental campaign teams and eco theaters; activities of labor and agrarian associations of high school students, student production crews and labor squads. It was emphasized that a network of educational and research land plots and school green- houses has been preserved in the region.
