Creation of a teacher's personal website: needs and possibilities
Abstract
The work highlights the results of a survey of teaching staff of general secondary education institutions of Ukraine regarding the formation of their professional competence in the field of creating and using WEB sites for the needs of educational activities. The survey was conducted on the territory of Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Kharkiv regions and the city of Kyiv. A total of 4,230 teaching staff took part in the survey, 52.8% of whom are teachers of the highest category. The results of the survey presented in the work indicate that the formation of appropriate professional competence among pedagogical workers is an extremely urgent problem, based on the requirements of the teacher standard of a general secondary education institution. Today, only 24% of respondents are able to create their own website. At the same time, 69.9% want to learn how to create such a site, and another 19.6% hesitate to answer. The work also provides a theoretical analysis of scientific sources on the issues of the presented research, which show that the issue of the formation of professional competence of pedagogical workers regarding the creation and use of personal websites for the needs of educational activities is not sufficiently covered today in the relevant Ukrainian-language sources, which motivates further research in this direction. The situation regarding the mentality of a large part of teachers regarding this aspect of their digital competence, who in the comments to the survey expressed a negative opinion regarding the prospects of forming the specified competence in them, also causes concern. Based on the research materials, the work concluded that the urgent need of the hour is the development of methodical materials and technology, which will contribute to the formation of professional competence of pedagogical workers in the field of creating and using web-sites for the needs of educational activities, first of all, in the process of their further professional development, including advanced training.
