Spiritual and moral education of student youth as a condition for sustainable development of the individual

Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of spiritual and moral education of student youth as a condition for sustainable personal development. The necessity of spiritual and moral education of student youth in modern conditions is substantiated, emphasis is placed on the development of value orientations of the younger generation, the development of which will contribute to the personal development of each student and his or her self-realization in this life. The possibility of forming the spiritual and moral education of students through active and interactive methods and forms of teaching and during extracurricular activities (cognitive games, literary and artistic competitions, contests, sports and recreational holidays, etc.) The conceptual foundations of the organization of spiritual and moral education of students, which contribute to the moral and spiritual growth of the younger generation, are considered. Particular attention is drawn to the importance of two institutions that complementarily influence the development of spiritual and moral education of students, namely the family, which lays the foundations of the character of a person's personality, and the school. It is emphasized that the central personality in the spiritual and moral education of students at school is the teacher, who should be a standard of moral relations with high moral and ethical values. It is noted that the spiritual and moral education of students at school should be carried out continuously throughout the entire period of study in general secondary schools, and each lesson should be based on the spiritual and moral principles and norms of Ukrainian society.
