Spirituality and professional development of the future teacher of extra-curricular activities in general secondary education establishment: integration of values into the educational process
Abstract
The article analyzes modern educational situation, characterized by dynamic changes, growth of information flows, and the need to shape individuals with clear value orientations. It determines the key spiritual values that should be inherent to a teacher of extra-curricular activities, namely, humanity, responsibility, fairness, honesty, patriotism, and respect for other cultures and traditions. The article researches the influence of spirituality on the professional development of a teacher of extra-curricular activities, including the formation of a personal outlook, humanistic orientation, empathic abilities, and the ability for self-development and self-improvement. The tools necessary for integraton of spiritual values into the educational process are discussed: educational hours, trainings, seminars, volunteer projects, and the use of spiritual literature and art. It is considered how the integration of values into the educational process contributes to the development of not only teachers of extra-curricular activities but also learners. The article emphasizes the role of spiritual values and patriotism in ensuring the spiritual security of the individual, especially facing modern challenges: National self-identification, ideological factor, value security, religious factor, factor of historical bias, factor of consciousness manipulation, aesthetic and value-oriented factor, factor of informational influence.
The importance of intercultural education and civil education as factors in shaping a tolerant, responsible, and active personality is revealed. The article describes aspects that a teacher of extra-curricular activities needs to consider when planning educational work in a general secondary education establishment. Recommendations are provided to teachers of extra-curricular activities on using various methodological materials and programs to support spirituality and civil education in the school environment.
