Factors of professional self-determination of modern high school students
Abstract
The article analyzes the problem of professional self-determination of high school students in current conditions. Successful professional self-determination has
not only significant personal but also social significance because the training of qualified perspective professionals becomes a guarantee of technological progress and economic development of society. Therefore, to help young people in determining the direction of their professional future and further successful career development, it is necessary to build pedagogical systems and accompaniment models of professional self-determination and self-realization. The development of effective models of pedagogical accompaniment is focused on the formation of their own activity and the subjective position of the participant in the process of professional self-determination. The effectiveness and efficiency of models of the pedagogical accompaniment of professional self-determination require consideration of various factors influencing the choice of high school students, technological resources, and the specific of modern conditions.
Traditionally, career guidance is perceived as an element of marketing, and among the influencing factors are taken into attention the labor market, the requirements for the competence of professionals, social priorities, and more. At the same time, psychological factors and personal aspects of choice have secondary importance. The article pays attention to the new approaches of scientists to the interpretation of professional self-determination from the standpoint of personal dominants in contrast to marketing priorities. The list of factors of professional self-determination of modern high school students is analyzed, which is supplemented by the determinants of today, and the results of empirical research are presented, which demonstrate the features and priorities of modern schoolchildren in professional self-determination. Only if these factors are taken into account, the process of professional self-determination will be carried out in the most balanced way, avoiding the detrimental influence of external attributive factors and simultaneously strengthening one’s own activity and affirming the participant’s subjective position.
