Dynamics of regulatory and legal support of activity of registered cossacks in Ukraine
Abstract
The article defines purpose and objectives of regulatory and legal support of the registered Cossacks in Ukraine. It has been outlined place of the registered Cossacks as a social stratum in the conditions of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth estate society. Its dynamics, historical and legal content. It has been analyzed normative acts and documents, such as normative legal acts of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Russian Empire, Ukrainian Hetmanates, agreements of the Zaporizhian Host with foreign states, opinions of legal scholars regulating the activities of registered Cossacks in Ukraine. It has traced question of the origin of the institute of recruitment for military service and the dynamics of the transformation of the rights and responsibilities of the registered Cossacks. The factors that contributed to the emergence of registered Cossacks in Ukraine, and the peculiarities of the legal regulation of its activities in terms of employment carried out by the rulers of other countries and in their own country. The peculiarities of the formation and functioning of the registered Cossacks in the legal reality of the studied period are characterized. It has been substantiated the main features that determine the legal status of the registered Cossacks not only as a knightly corporation, as well a registered Cossack as an individual. Differences between them are indicated. It has been established boundaries of the international legal personality of the registered Cossacks.
