Abstract

In recent years, our country has been steadily moving through deep and structural reforms aimed at improving the well-being and standard of living of Ukrainian citizens. In the context of the reform that is taking place today in all major areas of the state’s life, the quality of education plays an important role in the process of building a European society and economic growth of Ukraine. Therefore, the development and improvement of education requires a comprehensive knowledge of its status at the municipal level.

The article describes the basic characteristics (parameters) of the quality of education, identifies the main components of the quality assurance system of education. The results of the Rivne teachers’ survey on the current state of the quality of education and educational activity as an important direction of the state’s educational policy at the general secondary education institution at the municipal level are also presented. The survey identified how respondents understand the definition of «quality of education», found out what determines the quality of educational activity, identified a number of problems that exist in practice and negatively affect the quality of educational services, and the most significant factors in assessing the quality of education. The results of the survey made it possible to identify problems of quality of education and educational activity at the municipal level from the point of view of those who directly provide educational services.

The survey provided information that could serve as a basis for developing further strategic plans, necessary educational changes aimed at improving the quality of education and addressing specific problems that prevent local educators from working for quality results.

This article will be useful for the heads of general secondary education institutions working on the creation of an internal quality assurance system.
