Development of key competencies of students by means of legal science
Abstract
The article deals with the potential of the subject «Basic Law» (grade 9) in the formation of key competencies of students, civic and social. The concept of «key competence» as a result of learning and personal education of students is specified; «сompetence approach», which serves as a conceptual basis for secondary education reform. The possibilities of subjects of civil and historical educational branch in formation of civic and social competence of pupils of establishments of general secondary education are defined.
The components (knowledge, skills, attitudes) and manifestations of the formation of these key competencies in students are described. Civil and social knowledge, skills and attitudes that are formed/ developed in teaching students the subject «Fundamentals of Law» are outlined. Emphasis is placed on constructing a competency-oriented lesson, which includes an introductory, main and final part. The task of each part of such a lesson is defined. Emphasis is placed on the role of the activity approach in teaching law students, which enables the formation of key competencies.
The problems of competence-oriented teaching of jurisprudence are emphasized, such as the lack of developed methods and teaching aids. Elements of competence-oriented methods of conducting lessons on the subject «Fundamentals of Law» in the 9th grade of general secondary education are presented. The conclusion is made about the need for effective training of teachers of jurisprudence for the effective implementation in the practice of educational institutions of the competence approach in teaching ninth-graders the basics of jurisprudence. The theoretical provisions of the article are illustrated by examples.
