Professional development of the headmaster (principal) of the general secondary educational institution
Abstract
The article based on the analysis of scientific researches, regulatory and legal documents in the field of education. It has been analysed the essence and directions of professional development of the headmaster (principal) of a general secondary education institution The organisational and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the development of managerial competence were defined. It has been emphasised that the professional development of the principal is a problem, the successful solution of which largely depends on the efficiency of the general secondary educational institution functioning. The content of management is concentrated in the fact that the quality of education and educational activities are the results of professionally organized management processes.
It has been clarified the content and essence of the concept of «principal’s professional development of a general secondary educational institution». The conducted studies give grounds to assert that the professional development of the headmaster of a general secondary educational institution can be interpreted as a continuous, purposeful, integrating process of professionalisation of the individual.
Thus, it is the process of acquiring quantitative and qualitative indicators of managerial competence by the headmaster. It has been substained necessity of creating a system of professional development of a manager. The principal’s professional standard is interpreted from the viewpoint of the close connection between the theoretical and practical readiness of implementing his competent skills and habits. The model of professional development is proposed.
