Professional self-development of a modern school teacher
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of relevance of teacher's self – development in the field of professional activity. The research of Ukrainian and foreign scientists on the processes of renewal of vocational education, the essence of professional self-development, the need to move to the model of a new school is analyzed. The characteristics of the phenomenon of professional development of teachers are given. The concept of «professional self-development» of the teacher is presented as the growth, formation and implementation of professionally significant personal qualities and abilities, professional competencies, active and qualitative transformation of their inner world, which leads to a fundamentally new organization and mode of operation. There are two areas of personal self-development – self-education (education of will, personal qualities, character traits, certain behaviors) and self-education (independent cognitive activity, intellectual growth, mastering high-level knowledge on their own initiative). Three integral characteristics are defined: orientation, competence and flexibility. Emphasis is placed on the factors that influence the formation of the current attitude to the professional self-development of teachers. Models of education of continuous professional development of teachers are considered: formal, informal, informal. Features of professional self-development of a teacher in the information educational environment and the «formula» of an effective network community are presented. Theoretical concepts and practical technologies that allow teachers to carry out self-development in a fundamentally new digital environment are traced. Examples of leading global and Ukrainian educational platforms that provide the opportunity to learn online are given. The components of the influence of the educational environment on the teacher's self-development are given.
