Technology of developmental education and New Ukrainian school: analysis and the parallels
Abstract
The article analyzes and draws parallels between two pedagogical systems – the D. Elkonin – V. Davydov system of developmental education and New Ukrainian School. The article investigates the innovative nature of the developmental education that was developed, experimentally proven and tested by many years of practice in the middle of the last century and the relevance with the possibility of implementing its ideas in modern reform.
The potential and prospects of the technology of developmental education for the effective implementation of the Concept of the New Ukrainian School are substantiated, namely: competent orientation of the educational process, a distinct organizational system of the educational activities for school children, the use of effective educational methods and forms that ensure the development of thinking, creativity, research and developmental abilities of the child, and his or her the ability to learn.
The paper focuses on the personality development of schoolchildren in the learning process; organization of collective activities of teachers and students; the formation of educational and cognitive motivation; formative assessment as a means of tracking the individual achievements of each child; and the role of the teacher in ensuring the effectiveness of educational reform.
The technology of developmental education should be considered as a basis in which the competency approach, a clear system of educational activities, proven effectiveness of methods and forms of organizing the educational process, providing competencies and cross-cutting skills, development of thinking, creativity, research skills, learning skills, which are presented in the Concept of the New Ukrainian School.
