The concept of spiritual and moral education of personality in the dimension of Vasyl Sukhomlynsky's creative heritage through the standpoint of today
Abstract
The article analyzes the concept of spiritual and moral education of personality in the creative heritage of an outstanding teacher of the XX century – Vasyl Sukhomlynsky - from the standpoint of today. It is noted that the central place it is based on is the idea of a comprehensively developed personality, and at its core – the moral education based on the care / concern of a man for others, human responsibility for a man's life. It is concluded that the literary work of V. Sukhomlynsky (over 1500 fairy tales and stories) is an important component of his great pedagogical heritage, which consists of 48 books, 500 scientific articles. For our research the most essential works are "Spiritual world of the student", "Moral ideal of young generation", "One hundred tips for teachers", "Work and moral education", "Parental pedagogy", "Letters to the son", "Problems of education comprehensively developed personality", "A book about love", "How we raised a brave generation", "Pavlyshska High School", "I give my heart to children" (since 1969 have been published in 32 languages, has 55 editions) and others. Literary works for children by V. Sukhomlynsky (his mini-stories, fairy tales) are important for spiritual and moral education, as they answer any questions concerning the education of a highly spiritual personality. 90 fairy tales and stories of a teacher-writer that are possible are analyzed to use in the educational process of educational institutions, in the educational process, and also in work with teachers, parents. Examples of individual works by V. Sukhomlynsky that clearly express spiritual and moral issues, are presented. The method of involving children in real affairs, which he practiced, is analyzed by the Pavlysh director with students. Such an aspect of spiritual moral education of children in the concept of V. Sukhomlynsky as a question of socialization of personality, education of civic values, patriotism etc., is characterized. Many ideas of the Great Humanist of the twentieth century under conditions of critical analysis and creative use are relevant in the new Ukrainian school, especially at the present stage, when the Ukrainian people are struggling with the Russian occupation.
